This is the second sitcom Allen starred in for ABC, the first being Home Improvement. On May 11, 2012, the series was renewed for a second season that premiered on November 2, 2012. On May 10, 2013, ABC renewed Last Man Standing for a third season. It premiered on September 20, 2013.
