Dry January is long gone, the days are getting longer and awards season is in full swing. It can only mean one thing: the winter hiatus is almost over and some of your favourite TV shows are back!
Here at TV That Rocks, we make it our mission to keep you up to date with the hottest shows out there and we're super excited to bring you this fantastic selection of February's latest offerings.
The Walking Dead
Post-apocalyptic zombie drama The Walking Dead is back for its eagerly-awaited mid-season premiere and we are promised more carnage, more thrills and more action than ever before. Some 1300 walkers were involved in the production of the episode entitled "No Way Out" and writer Greg Nicotero has hinted that we should expect a high body count and an edge-of-the-seat viewing experience. The episode was shot at night for a "Night of the Living Dead" vibe and follows on from November's cliffhanger, in which the survivors' Alexandria camp was overrun by walkers.
Fans hoping for more of bad guy Negan, who was introduced at the end of the last episode will not be disappointed: this guy is back in a big way, making his presence felt in more ways than one. One scene we have had a sneak peek of shows one of his bikers pointing pistols at Sasha and Abraham in a tense denoument. One thing's for sure: this second half of the season is not going to be plain sailing for the survivors. As Norman Reedus, who plays Daryl, has recently teased, "We don't all survive and we don't all take it very well". Ooh-err! Expect some shocks! Gotham
As any avid viewer of Gotham knows only too well, plot developments and twists can move at a frenetic pace, which is why we can barely wait to see what the writers have in store during the second-half of season 2. Bruce Wayne continues to delve into the secret life of his father and we are promised some familiar faces from season 1. The November finale was tense as our hero was captured and Professor Strange got ready to experiment on a murdered Theo. Alongside this came the revelation that Fish Mooney's body was also being stored at Indian Hills.
Here at TV That Rocks, we can reveal that this is one cunning mastermind we haven't seen the last of. Jada Pinkett-Smith may not be going to the Oscars but she will be reprising her role as the malevolent mastermind Fish Mooney for "multiple" episodes this season. And with whispers of a return of the mysterious Jerome to boot, this season is shaping up towards a thrilling finale. "Mr Freeze" airs on February 29th.
Scandal
As the 2016 presidential race ramps up, so too does ABC's sizzling drama, Scandal. Revolving around the scandals and intrigue in Washington's coridoors of power, the plot was left wide-open at the climax of the mid-season finale, setting the scene for a fascinating few hours of drama to come. Mellie was having her moment in the spotlight after joining the presidential campaign and there are promises of some collaboration with Olivia, the complicated and intense aid who was last seen moving her belongings out of the White House. We are also expecting to see a lot more of Elizabeth North, played by Portia de Rossi and there will be a shock entrance from someone in Jake's past. Just what is going on?

Debuting on February 14th is this thrilling new 10 part drama from a bona fide dream team headed up by Mick Jagger and Martin Scorsese. Yes, that's THE Mick Jagger, putting the rich pickings of his vintage rock and roll heyday into this look at the music scene in 1970's New York. Centring on the sex and drug-fuelled lifestyle of record company executive Richie Finestra, Vinyl focuses on his struggle to keep his label alive in an unforgiving industry.
With Scorsese at the directorial helm, we are promised his trademark gritty realism and dry wit and with a cast including Olivia Wilde, Ray Romano and Max Casella, Vinyl is definitely going to be one to watch!

Based on the novel by Stephen King comes this smart thriller with a fascinating premise. James Franco stars as disgruntled teacher Jake Epping, who is given the opportunity to travel back in time to 1960, in order to prevent the assassinaton of JFK. With a plot that twists, turns and heaps on the thrills, our modern-day hero finds himself thrust into a past that is unwilling to be changed and he is running out of time.....This series is shaping up to be one of our favourites of the year.
